  10 Passengers Dead In Boat Accident In Niger State No fewer than 10 persons have allegedly died in a boat mishap in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State. The Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) in a statement signed by the Head of Information and Special Duties, Ibrahim Audu Hussani, said that during a visit to the scene with the Shiroro Local Government chairman, it was discovered that the mishap was caused by water hyacinth and strong waves. A grafting tree was also identified as a factor that contributed to the development. The tragedy reportedly occurred on Thursday between 1:30 pm and 2 pm due to strong waves and water hyacinth. The deceased include Farida Muntari, Sharhabila Sagir, Abubakar Sadiq, Na’ima Ibrahim, Amina, Safaratu Ibrahim, Sadiq Ibrahim, and Rafiya Yakubu, as well as two unidentified victims. General Opaleye (rtd) died in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, on Saturday morning of heart attack. He was military governor old Ondo State (before the creation of present-day Ekiti State) from August, 1986 to December, 1987, during the regime of Military President, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida. He took over from Admiral Mike Akhigbe of blessed memory before handing over to Commodore Olabode George. Until his death this Saturday, November 18, 2023, he was the Balogun Erunmu of Owu, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The gunman gained entry to the home studio of Juan Jumalon, known as DJ Johnny Walker, by pretending to be a listener. He then shot the 57-year-old twice during his morning broadcast, as people watched the programme live on Facebook.  Supreme Court Reserves Judgement In Atiku’s Petition Against Tinubu The  Supreme Court  on Monday reserved judgment in the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar challenging the decision of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) which affirmed the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the February 25, 2023 presidential election. The decision was reached by the seven-man panel of the apex court led by  Justice John Okoro  after lawyers to the parties in the case adopted their briefs of argument and made final submissions.
