Fidelity Bank wins Export Finance Bank of the Year award at 2023 BusinessDay BAFI Awards

Fidelity Bank Plc has once again secured its position as a leader in the exports sector by being named the Export Finance Bank of the Year at the 2023 BusinessDay and Other Financial Institutions (BAFI) Awards. The award was presented to the bank during a prestigious dinner event held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

BusinessDay Media Limited, the organizers of the BAFI Awards, emphasized the significance of these awards as a benchmark of distinction within the Nigerian financial services sector. In its 10th year, the awards aim to recognize and celebrate institutions that excel in delivering financial services in Nigeria.

Mrs. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, the MD/CEO of Fidelity Bank Plc, expressed gratitude for the recognition and dedicated the award to the bank's customers. She highlighted the bank's commitment to supporting its customers in navigating the global non-oil exports market effectively, emphasizing the institution's broader goals of fostering individual growth, inspiring businesses to thrive, and empowering economies to prosper.

Notably, Fidelity Bank recently hosted the second edition of its non-oil exports expo, the Fidelity International Trade and Creative Connect (FITCC), in Houston, Texas, USA. During this event, the bank signed a significant cocoa pre-export deal with AFREXIM Bank and JohnVents Industries valued at $40 million, marking a landmark development in the exports space.

FITCC Houston featured exhibitions by over 160 businesses from Nigeria and the US, along with panel sessions where stakeholders discussed strategies to boost the pipeline of Nigerian businesses exporting to the US market. Recognizing Fidelity Bank's commitment to fostering bilateral trade and economic development between Nigeria and the USA through the FITCC initiative, the Mayor of the City of Houston, Sylvester Turner, declared October 25, 2023, as FITCC Day in Houston, Texas.

As one of Nigeria's top banks, Fidelity Bank operates as a full-fledged customer commercial bank, serving over 8 million customers through its 251 business offices in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, as well as digital banking channels. The bank has garnered multiple local and international awards, including Best Payment Solution Provider Nigeria 2023, Best SME Bank Nigeria 2022, Best Bank for SMEs in Nigeria, and Best Domestic Private Bank in Nigeria.
